I’m sure many of you have think of this question before but have you really seriously think of what you really want or achieve in life?
I have many friends who have big dreams and bigger plans but sadly enough I don’t see many of them taking any action towards making their dreams a reality. This is what my mentor called and also universally known as the “NATO” syndrome. It stands for “NO ACTION TALK ONLY”. Sounds familiar?
Most people are inflict with this “NATO” syndrome and that’s the single most obvious reason why most people never get to achieve what they really want in life. They plan, talk and discuss about the most incredible ideas but when it’s time to put these ideas into place. They freeze! They delay! They procrastinate! What a pity! Some of these friends have the most incredible and innovative ideas that you can find and with a bit of fine tuning, someone with the knowledge and experiences can actually put these ideas into good use.
Some friends don’t even have an clear idea of what they want in life or what they want to achieve. These friends are what I would classified as being clueless or directionless in life. From my observations, they are clueless and directionless not because they don’t know what they want in life (they actually want the same things as most people)
but because they have a total lack of confidence in their own abilities. I feel that going for a motivation course or program would do them a world of good. These friends need to identify their strengths and weakness and instead of focusing on strengthening their weak points, they should focus on their strengths. By focusing on their strengths and the stuff they are doing well will give them a much needed boost to their confidence level.
Others are just contented with whatever life has in store for them. For these groups of friends, I have the utmost respect and admiration for them. They understand what they have right now are blessings from heaven and they want nothing more than just being happy and healthy. They also understand that in order to succeed and achieve things will take more than just “NATO”.
For those of you who have plans and goals in place, I would say “Go for it”! Don’t procrastinate and delay in making your move. Remember life is incredibly short and you should not waste any time. Imagine 30 -40 years from now, when you reflect back on your past, make sure you don’t have any regrets in life.
