Program Reviews: WidgetBucks

Posted by Albert at 10th October, 2007

WidgetBucks is a new advertising program which displays ads in a widget. It is quite similar to Chitika. WidgetBucks works on a PPC (Pay Per Click) model which is also similar to Google Adsense which means that you will only get paid if your readers click on these ads. The images generated are clean and I feel that people are more likely to click on them as compare to Chitika.

Inputing these ads into your site is quite easy. Just generate the codes and paste them onto your site to start showing these ads. The ads comes in a few sizes such as leaderboard 728 x 90, banner 468 x 60, rectangle 300 x 250, skyscraper 160 x 600 and a custom 660 x330.

Currently, WidgetBucks are claiming an impressive $3 -$6 CPM which is 3 times higher than traditional ad networks. Also they are offering a $25 signing up bonus fee which will be credited into your account. With withdrawal limit set at $50, you just need to make another $25 to withdraw your first payment.

You will also make money by referring other people into the program. You stand to earn a 10% commission on what your referred people make in commissions in the next 12 months. Isn’t that wonderful! :)

Personally, I feel that WidgetBucks is a good way to monetize your site. It may not be suitable for certain sites but the clean and high quality images makes the ads very inviting for readers to click on them. Add to the low entry barrier and low minimum payout, WidgetBucks looks like a very attractive proposition for webmasters looking to monetize your sites. I will be testing out WidgetBucks on some of my mainstream sites, just stay tune for the results.

If you have not sign up for WidgetBucks yet, you can do it here.
