Make Money With Photos

Posted by Albert at 29th September, 2007

Recently, I read an article in my local papers that some enterprising photography hobbyists are making decent money online by placing their photos with stock photo sites for sale. This article got ideas racing through my mind as I think of how to capitalize on this concept.

Shoot your own photos and sell them

Well, you have nothing to lose if you shoot your own photos and start selling them on stock photo sites. Invest in a good DSLR camera; learn some decent photography skills and you are good to go.

Sell Your Friend’s Photos

Let’s say if you have a friend who is photography fanatic, it’s time to meet up with him for a decent meal. Make a proposal to sell his photos in exchange for a 50/50 split. You do the marketing, he do the shooting. You can either place the photos on stock photo sites or set up a site to sell them.

Become a Bulk Buyer And Seller

Go to photography forums and offer to buy photos in bulk. Make sure you are given the rights to resell them. The reason to buy in bulk is to get bigger discounts. You have to drive a hard bargain though, just make sure you see some samples first. When you get the photos, get someone to touch up on the photos again and resell them on stock photo sites. You can also divided these photos into different niches and resell them to internet marketers.

So what do you think?

As you see, there are probably many more ways you can monetize with photos. These few are just some of the ideas that I can shoot off my head right now. I will probably be exploring some of them when I have the time. For now, I will just focus on one thing at a time. :)

Another good way is to set up a web site, and give your photos away free!

It works really well for me…
