If you are the buyer, you will obviously feel shortchanged and definitely not going to buy from that particular marketer again. This is something that happens on a very regular basic and if you have been online for a period of time, you will find a lot of products that you have bought will be in some way or another similar in context and content. I know that because I have purchase products that are simply rehash materials from another previous product. While this maybe a very profitable way of generating a good amount of cash, it does leave a sour taste in the mouth for consumers and definitely will not do your reputation any good at all.

I’m currently in the midst of developing my own reports and products for free distribution and for sale and this consideration is being taken into account very seriously. While the temptation to simply put out a rehash product for a quick profit is there; I mean seriously creating your own product is not easy and I am human after all! I do realize that my credibility and responsibility to my customers are more important as I am looking to build a long term business rather than making a fast buck or two.

For those of you who are looking at creating your own products now or in the future, do the bear in mind the mistakes being make by other marketers. You can use PLR materials and other people’s people as much as you like, but rather than copy wholesale, you can select the best features from each product and come up with a far superior product. This way, you will end up with happy customers and a good reputation to boot.

Most importantly when creating your own products, research the market first. There is no point for you to create a product first only to find there is a limited market for the product. It can be pretty demoralizing for fist time product creator.

Next, find a market that is crying out for solutions desperately. Products that are made for a desperate market are bound to be very profitable and many went on to become bestsellers. Of course, in the first place your products need to be a quality product and a good sales copy will also help a lot.

Another point to take note is that if you are not knowledgeable in the market that you are target, you must be prepared to step outside your comfort zone and seriously spend a few days researching the topic. Once you have all the information and data in hand to create the product, it is to rearrange everything and put it together into a cohesive product.

Please note that creating your own products does not necessary mean doing everything yourself. Stuff like banners, graphics, web design can be outsource to others if you are not proficient enough in these areas. It pays to engage a proofreader to veto your product before releasing it too.

As you can see, this is why it is always of paramount important to research your targeted market first. No point creating something that nobody wants. It would be a complete waste of your time and effort although I would say it is a good learning experience as well if you know what I meant.
