What Is RSS And How It Works
One of the very first obstacles that a new blogger may find is the huge amount of technical terms being used in blogging or online and understands the meaning behind these terms. RSS which is the abbreviation for Really Simple Syndication is one of the terms that constantly stump new bloggers. When I first get started on blogging, I had a hard time trying to understand what RSS is all about and how I can utilize it properly.
In a nutshell, RSS is a web format which allows web publishers to publish their content for readers to read in a RSS reader also known as a feed reader or aggregator. This allows your readers to read your latest updated content without having to visit your blog or website. The idea behind RSS is to allow a reader to consolidate all his favorite sites in one place without having to visit all the sites one by one. This makes it convenient and efficient for people like me who simply do not have the time to visit sites one by one.
Should You Start A Blog?
Many bloggers when they first started out failed to recognize the significance of asking themselves this seemingly harmless and simple question. As I started to get more serious and learn more about blogging, I can’t help but notice that if I have had sit down and give some serious thought before starting a blog, I may not have run into so many roadblocks in my short life as a blogger.
While starting a blog is relatively easy (you can get tons of information online on starting a blog), you should consider carefully certain points so that you can integrate your personal plans and goals into building a business plan for your blog that is assuming you are going to monetize your blog in the future. Otherwise if you are starting a blog not for commercial reasons, then you can forget about reading the rest of this post.
How Long Should A Blog Post Be?
As a blogger, it is important to understand some of the key factors that keep readers coming back for more. Post length is a factor that you should seriously look into when writing content for your targeted audience. It is still a widely debated topic among bloggers when it comes to deciding how long should a bog post be. There a few points that you should take note when deciding the general length of blog posts on your blog.
If you intend to monetize your blog with Adsense ads, it would be advisable to keep your blog post to a minimum length of 250 words. One of the most profitable locations for Adsense ads is inside the content of a blog post. If you are going to place Adsense ads inside your blog post, 250 words is the minimum to ensure that your words can wrap around the Google ads.
What Is A Blog?
A person who is not internet savvy or new online may not understand what the fuss is all about with blogs. Some, although very few that I encountered do not even know what a blog is. Although it is quite hard to find someone who has been online for a period of time and not knowing what a blog is, I have friends who are ignorant enough to ask what a blog is and what it does.
I meant these are friends with a certain degree of knowledge in using the net for traditional surfing and looking for information and not those who have not touch a computer in their lives. Anyway, for the benefit of those who have been living under a rock for the past few years, I will try to explain in simple terms what is a blog and what it does.

WebHostingPad is a relatively new entry to the highly competitive industry of web hosting. Found in 2005 by a team of web hosting industry veterans, WebHostingPad has been gaining a lot of ground with their low cost web hosting package and quality customer service and support.
Besides web hosting, WebHostingPad also provide web design services to customers. WebHostingPad like a lot of other new web hosting companies has only one web hosting package in place. It is priced very competitive at a monthly rate of $4.95. Although their web hosting plan is low in price, it does not compromise in terms of features.

Banner advertising is a form of online advertising using banners embedded on a web page to advertise or promote a product or service. Banner advertising is one of the earliest advertising methods online. It is still widely used today because banner ads have prove to be very effective in capturing web visitors’ attention.
Although many people find banner ads to be a distraction, it is also precisely the reason why they are so effective. The visitors’ attentions are drawn to the banners as soon as the web pages are load up. While banner ads are effective in drawing attention, you also need to be careful and not over do it.
Google To Retire Their Adsense Referral Program
Google is going to retire their Google Adsense referral program during the last week of August. During that time, referral ads that featured Google products or offerings from Adwords advertisers will no longer display any ads.
Although the referral programs is not that lucrative as compared to other monetization programs, at the very least it is an additional source of revenue for some webmasters. While I did not actively promote this program, a quick check around find some webmasters making decent money off it.
