Doing the right things at the right time will ensure your affiliate marketing business will be a success. Otherwise, you will have a hard time coping understanding why you are still struggling to make some money after a couple of months.
Affiliate marketing is just like any other business, be it conventional or on the internet. You need to approach it just the way real business should be done. Although affiliate marketing is essentially the easiest online money making models for anyone who wants to start making money online, it does not mean that you can earn easy money just by putting up a site and do nothing else. Check out my previous post on “Money Making Models: Affiliate Marketing” which will give you a better understanding on affiliate marketing.
Here are some tips to ensure that your affiliate marketing business is off to a good start:
Paid Posting Opportunities
If you decide to explore blogging as a means to making money online, there are a lot of opportunities available for you to monetize your blog. One of the best ways to do so is through paid posting opportunities. You are actually being paid to write reviews of products, services or simply websites.
However, you have to take note that this source of income is not passive and consistent. One moment, you could be getting tons of paid opportunities, the next moment you may have none or very few. It depends on numerous factors such as your blog’s Page Rank, Alexa ranking, traffic, link popularity and so on.
In this post, I will list down a simple guideline to help you make money from your blog after 3 months. Although you can start monetizing your blog as soon as you set it up, most paid posting opportunities sites required your blog to be at least 3 months old before these sites accept you into their paid posting programs.
BlueHost Hosting Review

BlueHost was one of my first web hosts and I would say that so far they did not disappoint me. In terms of customer service and technical support, I would rate them as one of the best if the best web host that I have sign up with so far.
Besides that, BlueHost have one of the cheapest web hosting plans on the market. While its hosting plan is one of the cheapest, it does not do away with the performance and features. In fact, from what I’ve seen so far, the hosting plan exceeds all expectations. I also like the live chat feature and the community forum where you can get a response to your queries fast.

Otherwise, please read on to have a better understanding why email marketing works and the impact it has on your income level.
Email is one of the best ways to keep in touch with your list and it is also one of the cheapest methods available. Emails allow you to build rapport and relationships with your list. As your relationships with your list grow stronger, the more profits you will be able to rake in months after months. That’s why email marketing is absolutely essential and crucial to anyone who has an online business.
Why do email marketing works for any business?
Google Clamps Down On Paid Postings
Here is an update on the latest round of Page Rank drops that affect thousands and thousands of bloggers worldwide. At last, Google decided to clamp down on bloggers who are monetizing their sites through paid postings. Many webmasters who are doing paid postings in their blogs found their blogs’ Page Rank dropped from even as high as PR4 to PR0. This is especailly true for people who are doing PayPerPost opportunities.
Google is doing this retaliation to people who are blatantly selling links and doing paid postings. It seems that Google is now going full force to stop other ads networks from jeopardizing and hurting their long profitable revenue channel “Adsense”. It’s understandable and while this seems so surreal to the thousands and thousands of bloggers worldwide, it’s a reality that will stay.
So what does it mean for you if you are doing paid postings all these while?
<!–more–> Definitely in the unforeseen future, it’s going to hurt your income, but then you should not be dishearten. After all, this is part and parcel of life and you should be prepared for it. That’s why it’s always important to diversify your income channels so that when one suddenly dropps, you wlll not be affected that badly.
If your Page Rank is not affected even though you are doing paid postings and selling links, you need to act first and remove all traces of PayPerPost and other paid postings if possible. Stop doing paid postings if you do not want to affect your Page Rank.
However, if you don’t care about your sites and you are those bloggers who set up your blogs to purely monetize from paid postings and selling links, then please carry on as per normal.
Currently, there are much speculation going round whether Google will offer amnesty to PayPerPost or other paid postings blogs. Thee is another rumor going round Google may scrap Page Rank altogether.
Since whatever Google does is beyond our control, we should continue to stick with building quality sites and also look for opportunities to exploit and make money.
If you have read through my posts, you would have known by now, I always advocate diversifying your income channels. I have sites built purely for paid postings and I intend to continue monetizing it that way. So whatever you do, always think of alternatives in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
Use Opt-In Or Splash Page to Build Your List

Building your own list should be one of your main priorities if you are going to into online money making opportunities. Whether you are into affiliate marketing, blogging, eBay, or other money making opportunities, you should focus on building your own list when as soon as possible. That’s why opt-in page and splash page are one of the best ways to build your list.
An opt in page or splash page is essentially a page that details a free gift or information and in return collect email addresses from those interested in your free gift or information. These email addresses are known as your mailing list and this list is where you send your offers to in the future. The bigger your mailing list, the more money you can make. A opt in page can also be used to drive traffic to your web sites. Once you get the email addresses, you can redirect these visitors to your web sites to get their free gift or information.
Although opt in page and splash page have been around for a number of years, they have not really been used until recently. The reason they are real popular right now is currently there is no better way to build a mailing list. Mailing lists are the lifeblood of most people and if you have no mailing list you will find it very hard to make money on the Internet. Another reason for opt in page and splash page popularity is the ability to make changes to them frequently. It is also much easier to change things if your opt-in page or splash page is not pulling in the numbers.
One Huge Site Or Many Small Sites
There have been many debates on whether setting up one huge content site is better than many small sites. While the two camps are arguing the benefits and wisdom in their logic, one thing is sure, they are actually making money.
Some say having a huge site is much better for monetization in the long run. I do not disagree here; in fact they are right about having a huge site and to me it’s better business sense. The returns are better and you can focus on one thing at a time. Having many sites will distract you and make you lose focus from making sure your sites are a success. Well, I also do not disagree with that as I have been through this path and I understand there will be a limit to how much things human beings can focus on and multi-task.
Others will advocate setting up many sites. Their reasoning is very simple, imagine if each site earns you $5 a day and you have 50 sites and that equates to $250 a day. Not a bad figures by any means, multiply that by 30 days and you get $7500, an income by no means inferior to a mid level executive. In my country, that’s over 5 figures in today’s exchange rate. Also, small sites are easier and much faster to set up as compared to a huge site.
Monetize Your Blog Through Paid Posting Opportunties

As a blogger there are many ways you can monetize your blog, and one of the best way to do so is through paid reviews of products and service. I have compiled a list of paid posting opportunity sites for bloggers who want to monetize their sites. Most of these sites required your blog to be established for three months or more. You have to read through the individual sites’ FAQ to find out what are these requirements.
In order to make more money from paid posting opportunities, it’s best to have a high Page Rank and also Alexa ranking. The higher your blog’s Page Rank and Alexa ranking, the likelihood of getting more and higher paid posting opportunities are there. The list is by no means comprehensive but these are the sites that I’m currently making good money from. If you have any recommendations besides the ones on the list, please feel free to suggest.
What Do You Want In Life?
I’m sure many of you have think of this question before but have you really seriously think of what you really want or achieve in life?
I have many friends who have big dreams and bigger plans but sadly enough I don’t see many of them taking any action towards making their dreams a reality. This is what my mentor called and also universally known as the “NATO” syndrome. It stands for “NO ACTION TALK ONLY”. Sounds familiar?
Most people are inflict with this “NATO” syndrome and that’s the single most obvious reason why most people never get to achieve what they really want in life. They plan, talk and discuss about the most incredible ideas but when it’s time to put these ideas into place. They freeze! They delay! They procrastinate! What a pity! Some of these friends have the most incredible and innovative ideas that you can find and with a bit of fine tuning, someone with the knowledge and experiences can actually put these ideas into good use.
Google Page Rank Update – 3rd Quarter 07
It has been months since Google last did their Page Rank update. Talks have been going round in forums and blogs about the Google Page Rank update and when will it finished.
No one has any clear idea when their sites will be updated but according to news going round in forums and blogs, Google has started to penalize those sites that have been selling links. Many webmasters who have been selling links on their sites through ads networks like Text Link Ads have been slap with Page Rank penalty which result in lower Page Rank for their sites.
For me, this round of updating is a mixture or joy and disappointment. Although disappointment is a tad too harsh as all my sites have experience Page Rank increases. In fact most of my sites jumped from straight unranked to a Page Rank of 3 or 4 whereas the sites that I focus most on only have a slight increase in Page Rank of 1 to 2 places. ![]()
I supposed these sites are being slapped with Page Rank penalties as I have been selling links through these sites. But I can still take heart from seeing that ProfitablePoint has a slight increase in Page Rank to 1 even though this blog is less than 2 months old. In fact I was quite surprise by the increase in Page Rank as I did not do anything much except for updating ProfitablePoint regularly.
From this update, it seems that Google has changed its Page Rank algorithm and this is just the beginning according to some who said that the next coming update in 2008 is going to be more harsh on those selling text links.
But what make this whole Page Rank update so interesting and fun to watch is the way webmasters are all going crazy over the Page Rank update. Wonder how’s the next round of updates are going to be! Seems like real fun! ![]()
